The Foam & Water Type Fire Extinguisher combines a water-based solution with a foaming agent to create an extinguishing medium effective against both Class A fires involving ordinary combustible materials such as wood, paper, and textiles, and Class B fires involving flammable liquids such as petrol, oil, and paints. When discharged, the foam spreads across the surface of a liquid fire, creating a blanket that cuts off the oxygen supply and prevents flammable vapors from reigniting, while the water content simultaneously cools burning solid materials to halt the combustion process.
This dual-action capability makes foam extinguishers particularly valuable in environments where both solid combustibles and flammable liquids are present, such as workshops, warehouses storing mixed materials, and vehicle maintenance areas.
The extinguisher is typically pressurized with nitrogen or air and operates using the standard pull-aim-squeeze-sweep technique common to most portable fire extinguishers, discharging the foam solution through a hose and nozzle onto the base of the fire. Foam & Water Type Extinguishers are commonly found in warehouses, workshops, printing facilities, and commercial establishments where a versatile solution for both solid and liquid fire hazards is required.
